So far your SQL has lived in queries you run by hand. This module moves reusable logic into the database itself, starting with views: saved queries that behave like tables, useful for simplifying complex joins and for exposing only the columns a user should see.
You'll then learn stored procedures — named, parameterized blocks of SQL you can call repeatedly — and user-defined functions that return a value you can use inside queries. Finally you'll meet triggers, code that runs automatically when rows are inserted, updated, or deleted, and learn when they help (auditing, enforcing rules) and when they cause surprises.
Syntax for procedures, functions, and triggers differs between databases, so the lessons mix examples from several — focus on the ideas. Work through them in order, then continue on to Advanced SQL.
