Knowing how to design a good chart is only half the job; you also need a tool to build it in. Power BI and Tableau are the two most widely used business intelligence tools, and most BI analyst roles ask for one or both. They solve the same problem, turning raw data into interactive reports and dashboards, but they feel a little different to use.
You'll start with Power BI, going from connecting to data and shaping it in Power Query to building visuals and a finished dashboard. Then you'll do the same in Tableau, learning how dimensions, measures and calculated fields work and how to assemble a dashboard from your worksheets.
Skills transfer easily between the two, so pick the one your target employers use and learn the other afterwards. In the next module, Metrics, KPIs & Dashboards, you'll decide what a dashboard should actually measure.
