Module 01 of 12

Foundations of Data Analysis

Lessons

About This Module

Every analysis, from a quick spreadsheet check to a full dashboard, follows the same underlying logic. This module starts with what data analytics is and the analysis lifecycle: defining the question, collecting and cleaning data, analysing it, and interpreting the results so they can drive a decision.

You'll then look at what a data analyst actually does day to day, since the role ranges from highly technical SQL work to stakeholder-facing dashboards. The module finishes with the skill that shapes everything after it: asking SMART questions that are specific, measurable, and tied to a real business goal.

Once you can frame a problem clearly, you'll be ready for the next module, Spreadsheets & Excel, where you start working with real data.
