Most real apps need to remember things and know who is using them. That means adding a backend: a place to keep your data, a way for people to sign in, and connections to other services. AI tools can set all of this up for you, but you still need to understand what it is doing.
This module introduces databases (where your app stores information), authentication (letting users sign up and log in safely), and APIs (how your app talks to other services, including AI models). You will also see why API keys need to be kept secret and how backend functions help with that.

A quick tour of adding a backend: creating a project, setting up tables, adding sign-in, saving data, and calling an AI service.
Creating a database table, connecting it to your app’s interface, and checking the saved data in the dashboard.
Setting up user login and profiles so each person has their own account in your app.
Using backend functions to call outside APIs such as OpenAI, and keeping API keys secure instead of exposing them in your app.
