Module 05 of 15

Version Control

Lessons

About This Module

Every cloud project, from application code to infrastructure definitions, lives in a version control system. Git records every change you make, lets you go back to any earlier version, and lets many people work on the same files without overwriting each other. GitHub adds a place to share that work and collaborate on it.

You'll start with what Git is and the core workflow of staging and committing changes, then learn how branches let you work on new ideas in isolation and how to merge them back, including how to resolve conflicts. Finally you'll see how pull requests let teams review changes before they are merged. Watch the videos in order, then move on to Cloud Providers once you can push your own project to GitHub.
