Module 08 of 10

Network, Wireless & Cloud Security

Lessons

About This Module

Modern organisations are not just a few servers behind a firewall. Their traffic flows across wired networks, over Wi-Fi, and into cloud platforms run by someone else. Each layer has its own weaknesses, and a security professional needs to understand all three.

You'll begin with network security, using Wireshark to capture and read real traffic. Then you'll look at wireless security, including how Wi-Fi encryption works and why weak passwords put a network at risk. Finally you'll cover cloud security, where the shared responsibility model, identity and access management, and common misconfigurations are the key ideas.

Only capture traffic and test wireless networks you own or have written permission to test. Next is Cryptography & Defense, where you'll learn how data is protected and how defenders put it all together.

Learn Wireshark: Tutorial for Beginners

How to track network activity in Wireshark and inspect TCP, IP, and HTTP packets to see what is really crossing a network.

02

Wireless Penetration Testing: WPA2 and Aircrack-ng

A look at how WPA and WPA2 networks are tested, and why a weak Wi-Fi password is easy to recover from a captured handshake.

03

Cloud Security Basics: AWS, Azure & S3 Bucket Security

The cloud shared responsibility model and the most common cloud misconfigurations that lead to data breaches.

04

AWS IAM & the Shared Responsibility Model

How AWS identity and access management works as the front door to your cloud account, and who is responsible for what.
