Module 10 of 10

JVM, Performance & Deployment

Lessons

About This Module

Code that works on your laptop isn't the same as code that stays fast and reliable in production. This final module looks under the hood of the Java platform and covers the skills that separate a program that runs from a service you can trust with real traffic.

You'll start with how the JVM manages memory and how garbage collection reclaims it, which explains many performance problems before they happen. Then you'll learn to profile an application to find what is actually slow instead of guessing. Finally you'll package your service with Docker, and set up monitoring with Micrometer so you can see how it behaves once it's running.

That completes the curriculum. Next up are the Projects, where you'll put everything from the ten modules into practice by building real applications.
