Great agile coaches don't hand teams the answers; they help people find their own. Coaching and mentoring are the skills that make that possible, supporting individuals and teams as they build new habits, solve their own problems, and grow in confidence.
You'll start with coaching and mentoring fundamentals, covering how the two differ and when to shift between stances such as teaching, mentoring, and coaching. Next you'll practise powerful questions and active listening, including a simple structure for coaching conversations. The module closes with giving and receiving feedback, so your observations land as support rather than judgement.
With these skills in place, you'll be ready for the next module, Team Dynamics & Conflict, where you look at how teams form, how trust is built, and how to work through disagreement constructively.
How coaching and mentoring differ, the agile coaching stances (teaching, mentoring, coaching, facilitating), and how to choose the right stance for the person and the moment.
How to ask open, curious questions, listen without rushing to advise, and use a simple model such as GROW to structure a coaching conversation.
Practical ways to give specific, timely, and respectful feedback, and to receive it openly, so it supports growth and strengthens trust.
