Good coaching depends on knowing whether things are actually getting better. The right metrics show where work slows down and help a team improve, while the wrong ones can be gamed or used to pressure people. A coach needs to know the difference.
You'll start with the classic Scrum measures, velocity and burndown charts, and then move to flow measures such as lead time and cycle time. Next you'll look at agile KPIs and how to choose a small set that supports improvement. The module closes with leading organizational change, using Kotter's eight-step model to help a whole organization adopt new ways of working and make them stick.
This is the final module of the course. Once you've finished it, you can put everything together in the Projects section.
What velocity, burndown, and burnup charts show, how story points feed them, and how a team can use them to plan sprints and spot problems early.
The difference between lead time and cycle time, how each is measured, and how flow metrics reveal waiting and bottlenecks in a team's process.
An introduction to the key agile metrics and KPIs, and why teams should track a few meaningful measures instead of everything they can count.
Kotter's eight-step change model, from creating urgency and building a guiding coalition to anchoring new approaches in the culture.
