Module 07 of 10

Facilitation & Retrospectives

Lessons

About This Module

The Scrum Master is accountable for making sure every Scrum event takes place and is positive and productive. Good facilitation is a large part of that. It is less about running the room and more about helping the Scrum Team get value from each event, while building the team's own ability to manage itself.

You'll start with what it means to be a facilitator and some tips for doing it better. Then you'll focus on the Sprint Retrospective, the event where the Scrum Team plans ways to increase quality and effectiveness. You'll see how to facilitate it, what makes a retrospective effective, and why it is worth holding every Sprint.

With facilitation skills in hand, you'll be ready for the next module, Coaching Teams & Resolving Conflict, where you look at helping the team grow and work through disagreements.
