Research only helps once you make sense of it. After a round of interviews and observation you are left with pages of notes, quotes and half-formed ideas. Research synthesis turns that pile into patterns you can act on, starting with affinity mapping: grouping notes by theme until the real insights appear.
You'll then give those insights a human shape with personas, empathy maps and journey maps, so the whole team can see who they are designing for and where their experience breaks down. Finally, you'll learn to frame a clear problem statement and turn it into "how might we" questions that open up ideas without jumping straight to solutions.
