Module 10 of 13

Usability Testing

Lessons

About This Module

You are not your user, so the only way to know whether a design works is to watch real people try to use it. Usability testing does exactly that: you give participants realistic tasks, observe where they succeed or struggle, and learn why. Even a handful of sessions will reveal problems you would never spot on your own.

You'll learn the basics of usability testing, how to plan a study with realistic tasks, how to moderate sessions without leading the participant, and how to analyse your findings and prioritise what to fix first.

Treat the videos as a reference and come back to them when you plan your own test. When you're done, continue on to Accessibility & Inclusive Design.
